For more than 30 years, locally owned Midas Fabrics has offered designer upholstery and drapery fabrics, reupholstering, custom-tailored draperies, bed coverings, pillows, decorating advice and in-home consultations. Midas Fabrics grew from humble beginnings. In 1971, a favor turned Midas Fabrics, originally a wholesale business, into a retail store. It happened when Joan, a friend of the owners, stopped in for a lunch date. She saw a bolt of green velvet and asked if she could buy 20 yards of it to recover her sofa.
