Rural Plumbing & Heating was incorporated in 1947 by W.B. and Mildred Nivison. The Nivisons realized that at the time there were many homes, especially in the rural areas of North Carolina, which were without working modern-day bathroom facilities. Rural Plumbing & Heating started out by installing these facilities in eastern North Carolina, but moved to Raleigh shortly thereafter and settled there in 1948. Rural Plumbing & Heating started out as a four truck company staging its daily operations out to the Nivison's basement, and has grown to the present day capacity of one hundred trucks operating out of a 20,000 square foot shop/warehouse. The company mission at Rural Plumbing & Heating is to continue to serve North Carolina, and specifically the Triangle area, in all areas of plumbing and heating service as well as commercial and residential new construction.
